    I have been painting on wood for over ten years. My first idea was to paint Easter and souvenir eggs, which are fairly common in Russia, but I did not like the subject matter that most Russian painters used. I wanted to find something unusual that would be my personal style. Looking for beauty, I developed a style that creates a village scene that is continuous around the egg. The scene has many details of imaginary towns of the 19th century. There are walking people, playing children, flowers, skating rinks, pets, boats, balloons . . . a Holiday forever! I paint scenes in every season of the year. I usually use pastel tones with low contrast but lots of hues. The painting is hard work but very rewarding. My colleagues, the toughest critics of all, value my work and have accepted me into the National Artists' Union of Russia and the International Federation of Artists. I also paint pictures, frames for mirrors, and clocks using the same style. My dream is to paint a piece of furniture.
